JD Edwards Advanced Orchestrations Training

Design scalable, high-performance orchestrations, integrate JD Edwards with external systems, and extend JD Edwards functionality —without customization.

This JD Edwards Orchestrator training course builds on foundational knowledge and focuses on advanced techniques for performance, integration, and extending JD Edwards functionality using User Defined Objects.

Course Overview

This course is designed for JD Edwards users who already have experience with Orchestrator and want to build more scalable, high-performance solutions, and integrate JDE with 3rd party systems.

The course is built around three major themes:

  • Scaling Orchestrations

  • Integrations

Scaling Orchestrations

In the first section of the course, we review the architecture of an orchestration, identify the bottlenecks that can impact performance orchestration performance, and share design patterns and strategies to mitigate performance issues. You will then learn how to use Logic Extensions, Custom Requests, Database Connectors, Business Functions, and AIS API calls to build more efficient orchestrations.

Integrations

We should you how you can integrate JDE with external systems. This includes methods to have Orchestrator authenticate with other systems, and how external systems can authenticate with JDE. We will build solutions where Orchestrator will integrate with Microsoft SharePoint, as well as OCI Document Understanding. We will also build an integration where an app on the Microsoft Power Platform connects to JDE to retrieve data and create transactions. We will also look at Stateless Load Balancing, what it is and when to use it.

Next, we will use an FTP connector to query an FTP server for a list of files, download and upload files, and how you can efficiently process large csv files.

Not every system uses JSON when communicating between systems. You will learn how to can create and consume xml content using reXML, and how to take advantage of 3rd party libraries to extend you scripting capabilities such as encrypting and decrypting files.

Course Objectives

  • Scale orchestration solutions to handle large datasets

  • Minimize orchestration execution overhead

  • Integrate JD Edwards with external systems

Interactive, Hands-On Learning Approach

This course is delivered using a hands-on, scenario-based approach that builds on real-world JD Edwards use cases.

Participants work through structured exercises that focus on solving practical challenges related to performance, integration, and orchestration design.

Course Structure

  • 4 sessions (4 hours each) delivered over 4 days

  • Instructor-led sessions delivered live via Zoom

  • Concepts introduced through focused demonstrations

  • Hands-on exercises designed to reinforce advanced techniques

  • Step-by-step guidance with opportunities for independent application

Hands-On Exercises

  • Exercises focus on real-world performance, integration, and orchestration design challenges commonly encountered in JD Edwards environments.

  • Participants work through performance optimization and integration challenges

  • Optional extensions allow deeper exploration of advanced techniques

Instructor Support

  • Real-time assistance during sessions

  • Additional one-on-one support available if needed
